Hello Central Families,

We are excited to welcome you back to school this year! I am honored to be part of such a wonderful school community. I would like to introduce myself, Amber Mitchell, Central Elementary Principal. I am originally from Grand Ledge and currently live in Lowell with my husband Ryan, son Dominick and daughter Alessondra. We stay busy in the summer with swimming, camping, reading at the library, and attending basketball and volleyball tournaments. My true passions are faith, family and education. I earned my M.Ed. in Reading from Florida International University and my Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University.

I have experience working with students at the middle and high school levels but it’s been my dream to return to elementary. My first love was teaching 4th grade in Miami, Florida and I am grateful to work with the young ones here in Hastings. Elementary is the absolute best! Our goal in education is to make a positive impact on the lives we touch and I strive to make a difference every day!

I am excited to grow with you and make new memories this year! We have a PBIS theme and a calendar packed full of exciting activities. We look forward to our fall and spring parent picnics, field trips, reward days, and will continue to recognize those students being respectful, responsible, and safe here at Central!
