The final addition to Central Elementary’s new playground is complete and the kids are loving it! The monkey bars, which have been a work in progress, were officially opened late last week, giving our students the chance to climb and play.

Central’s new playground, along with the playgrounds at our other elementary schools, was made possible through our 2023 bond proposal. We’re grateful for the community’s support in helping us create fun, safe spaces for our students to learn and grow through play.

Region 3, District 2 semifinals will feature a familiar pairing on Friday night as the Saxons take on cross-county rivals Thornapple Kellogg. Their first meeting this season was a thriller!

Tickets for district semifinals are $7 and will be sold exclusively online at GoFan.co. Ticket sales open later this afternoon.

Please note: The game falls on Halloween night, and a portion of Green Street, a main roadway here in town, will be closed for trick-or-treating for much of the evening. Be sure to allow extra time and plan an alternate route.

HOCO GAME
Saxon Fans,

It's Homecoming Week here at Hastings!!

With Friday's (10/10) big Homecoming football game looming on the horizon, we'd like to send out a few reminders about the event and how things will be handled. Typically, this is our biggest crowd of the year and we are asking for our fans to understand that a lot is going on inside the venue and we want safety to be at the forefront of the evening.

We have had some issues with young people not being supervised by parents/guardians and we have run into some cases with people getting hurt, injured or upset with various objects being thrown around a very populated area. Please see that your student in supervised by a parent or guardian throughout the contest.

We are asking that no objects, that are able to be thrown, be allowed into the stadium on Friday night. Footballs, soccer balls, frisbees, etc. will not be allowed inside the stadium. Please ensure that your student keeps these objects at home for the evening. This also include water bottles in the public area and in the stands.

Also, the gates that surround the north side of the field will be staffed and only those folks that utilize the concession stand, the Homecoming events/tents or restrooms, will be permitted to pass through that area. Again, we are concerned about the safety of all of our fans before, during and after the contest.

Please note that the admission gates will open up at 5:00 pm for entrance to the stadium. We do not provide reserved seating with the exception of the north end of the home bleachers being set aside for the Hastings student section.

Admission remains at $5.00 CASH and we hope to see you all there.

Best of Luck to our band members, cheer team, Homecoming Court and our football team in what should turn out to be a special night.

Welcome back, Hastings Alumni, and enjoy the game!

Thanks and Go Saxons!!

Barry County United Way and Volunteer Center generously donated leftover school essentials from their backpack program to both Central and Southeastern Elementary Schools. We are so appreciative of this thoughtful gift, which helps ensure all our students have the supplies they need to stay equipped and ready to learn!
