Jim "Basketball" Jones visited our Central Elementary and Middle School students, bringing an action-packed assembly filled with basketball stunts and important lessons on character building. Students had a great time!

As we await finalization of the state budget, we want to provide clarity for our families regarding school breakfast and lunch. Following recent action by our Board of Education, we are pleased to share that, regardless of state-level decisions, our district will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students through December 2025.

Further information about meal program plans beyond that date will be communicated as it becomes available.

We value the importance of ensuring every student has access to these nutritious meals, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue offering this support to our school community.

We're having fun in STEM class! Kaylee from Mrs. Hoke's class built a wall for Humpty Dumpty while Mrs. Reser's class worked together to build the largest paper chain they could!

Fall cookout season has begun! Hastings Central Elementary kicked things off today by welcoming parents in for a lunch filled with 🍔burgers🍔, 🌭hot dogs🌭, and plenty of tasty treats. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, share a meal, and see firsthand how well our students are settling into their new routines. What a great start to the year!

Welcome to campus, preschoolers! Just under 100 Great Start Readiness Program students celebrated their FIRST week of school this, and our amazing teachers were ready to greet them with a variety of fun, engaging, and educational activities. Here's to a wonderful year ahead!

Our young students are not only learning in the classroom, they’re also learning the rules of the road when they ride a Hastings school bus. Our amazing drivers have been visiting school buildings to give bus safety presentations, helping students understand how to travel safely while keeping the ride fun. Thanks to their efforts, our kids are better prepared to get to and from school with confidence. Thank you, bus drivers!

We’re back! To kick off the school year, the high school student council shared encouraging messages across the district, filling sidewalks with positive chalk notes yesterday to welcome students on their first day.

Tomorrow is the first day of the 2025–26 school year! We’re excited to welcome our students back into our buildings and kick off another year of learning and growth.

The year will go by quickly — be sure to keep track of important dates with our school calendar. We’ll see you tomorrow!

Our teachers had an incredible professional development experience this morning, thanks to a powerful session led by Jake Daggett.

With years of experience teaching elementary students and now serving as a Foundational Literacy Director in Milwaukee, Jake brought a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. As a global literacy consultant and prominent voice on social media, Jake shared impactful insights that left our team energized and motivated.
